Half-Time Report: Sheffield Wednesday leading Blackburn Rovers

Sheffield Wednesday overturn an early deficit to lead Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at half time.

Sheffield Wednesday have come from a goal behind to lead Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at half time in the Championship.

Blackburn started impressively and were denied an opening goal by a save from Chris Kirkland, with the former England ace denying Jordan Rhodes from close range.

However, Kirkland's mistake allowed Rovers to open the scoring as David Dunn was awarded a penalty after being fouled by the goalkeeper, with Rhodes calmly slotting the ball home from 12 yards.

Jermaine Johnson ensured that the hosts were not behind for long as he beat Scott Dann before firing home.

The Owls took the lead shortly before the break thanks to a penalty of their own from Leroy Lita after Josh Morris had fouled Reda Johnson.
