Royston Drenthe has claimed that he didn't have to think twice before agreeing to move to Sheffield Wednesday on transfer deadline day.
The 27-year-old looked set for a season of frustration at Reading before his loan to their Championship rivals, and he admits the promise of playing regularly was a crucial factor in his decision.
"I cannot wait to start because I need to be playing football," Drenthe told the club's website. "Everyone at Reading has been great with me but I am a footballer who needs to be playing games.
"As soon as I was told of the interest from Sheffield Wednesday, my reaction was 'get me there' because this is such a great club and one that I think is going places."
Drenthe could make his debut when the Owls return to Championship action against Bolton Wanderers next Saturday.
