Stuart Gray disappointed by Sheffield Wednesday display

Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray admits that his team performed below their usual standards during Saturday's draw with Leeds United.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray has admitted that his side did not put in a good performance during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Leeds United.

Chris Maguire gave the Owls a 52nd-minute lead at Elland Road, but a late goal from Giuseppe Bellusci earned Leeds a point in the Championship encounter.

"That wasn't us. We didn't pass it as well as we have passed it and our ball retention wasn't good," Gray is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "At the end of the day you're not always going to get it your own way.

"You need to dig in and we had Kieren Westwood pulling off some fantastic saves, but then I thought after we got in front we would go on and win the game."

Wednesday return to action after the international break when they host Watford on October 18.
