The away side made the breakthrough on 33 minutes as Danny Ings arrived in the penalty area before heading in powerfully.

Burnley doubled their advantage five minutes later when Sam Vokes converted Kieran Trippier's incisive pass.

Wednesday pulled a goal back through David Prutton with 20 minutes left on the clock, but they were unable to force an equaliser.
