Sheffield Wednesday, Norwich City share goalless draw

Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City share a goalless draw at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday drew 0-0 at home with Norwich City this afternoon to leave both sides still without a league victory this month.

Wednesday were positive in the opening stages and Stevie May sent a header wide of goal following good build-up play from Claude Dielna.

The best chance of the half fell the way of Lewis Grabban, but Keiren Westwood made a point-blank save to deny the forward from six yards.

Glenn Loovens then threw his body on the line to deny Cameron Jerome as the visitors began to gain a stranglehold on the game.

Atdhe Nuhiu did cause problems for Norwich, though, and the target man teed up Kieran Lee, but the midfielder sliced his volley wide.

Nuhiu then had a strike of his own, but John Ruddy comfortably held his weak effort.

Just before the break, Westwood came to Wednesday's rescue once more as he tipped Bradley Johnson's curling free kick round the post.

Russell Martin then almost put the visitors ahead shortly after the interval, but the Norwich skipper directed his header wide of the upright.

Liam Palmer fired into the side-netting in a rare chance for Wednesday, but Westwood continued his heroics at the other end with a string off impressive saves from Jerome and Nathan Redmond.

Martin then had yet another chance to head home late on, but he sent his second chance of the game wide as Norwich left with just a point.
