Sebastian Roudet struck five minutes from time to give Sochaux all three points from their home encounter against Nancy this evening.
The first chance of the encounter fell to the home side in the 19th minute. However, Ryad Boudebouz was unable to keep his shot from 20 yards out on target.
Thierry Doubai and Vincent Nogueira both had further opportunities for Sochaux before the break, but neither were able to find the net from inside the area.
Sochaux continued to dominate proceedings after the restart, with Sebastien Corchia forcing visiting goalkeeper Guy N'Dy into a diving save down to his right after 54 minutes.
Their pressure finally told late in the match as Roudet reacted quickest inside the area to fire in and hand his side the victory.
