Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has insisted that Graziano Pelle is still a crucial part of his plans following his recent struggles in front of goal.
Pelle has not scored since the 3-0 victory over Everton on December 20, but Koeman believes that the Italian offers more than just a goal threat and the Dutchman is confident that his side will find their goalscoring form again soon.
"Graziano is important to the way we play because he is always the target man," the Saints boss told reporters.
"He is not a typical number nine who at the end of the season has scored goals and nothing else. He is doing well but every striker looks to score.
"We are creating good chances but are struggling to score. I am not worried because we have good quality attacking players in our squad and it will change."
Southampton have failed to find the net in their last four Premier League games.
