Rickie Lambert hopeful of quality from Dejan Lovren

Southampton striker Rickie Lambert expects that new defender Dejan Lovren will make a lasting impact in the Premier League next season.

The Croatia international joined Mauricio Pochettino's side in an £8.5m deal from Lyon in June.

"I didn't know too much about him but I've read up on him and he will be a very, very good addition to the squad," Lambert told the club's official website.

"I haven't met him yet but I can't wait. Hopefully he'll help push us on."

Lambert scored 15 goals in the Premier League last season as Southampton finished 14th in the Premier League.
