Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino says that his side "are in a good situation" to face Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino has said that his side "are in a good situation" to face Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

The Saints won in the Premier League for the first time since the end of November when they recorded a 3-2 victory at West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

Pellegrino has spoken of the importance of the success against the Baggies, and has insisted that his team are now ready to take on Liverpool.

"It was an important game but now we have to continue. Liverpool is a huge possibility for us, a really tough side and we want to improve and learn from our experience," Pochettino told reporters.

"I think we have to improve in different aspects in the way we play and hopefully we want to feel at the end of the game, okay we are growing and continue with this feeling.

"When you play against this side (Liverpool) you have to do everything almost perfect to try to beat this type of team, a Champions League team. But with us I feel we are in a good situation to play against them."

Southampton currently sit 15th in the Premier League table on 26 points.
