Report: Southampton join race for Cardiff City's Steven Caulker

Southampton reportedly join the running to sign Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker, who is also said to have attracted interest from Liverpool.

Southampton are reportedly one of the clubs tracking Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker ahead of a potential summer swoop.

The 22-year-old is said to have attracted a number of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool.

According to the Daily Mail, Southampton have become interested in Caulker after it emerged that he has a release clause in his contract stating that he can leave Cardiff if they get relegated.

The Welsh outfit dropped into the Championship last weekend following a 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United.
