Spain's Pedro: 'France are favourites at Euro 2016'

France are 'the favourites' to triumph at Euro 2016 this summer, according to Spain and Chelsea attacker Pedro.

Spain attacker Pedro has claimed that France are 'the favourites' to win Euro 2016 this summer.

Hosts France opened their Group A campaign with a 2-1 win over Romania on Friday night, and according to the bookmakers are the favourites to win the competition on home soil.

That is a view shared by Pedro, who has also paid tribute to the performance of Dimitri Payet, who scored France's winner in the 89th minute against Romania in Paris.

"[France] are a favourite. We saw the great work that they did against Romania, especially in defence. I wasn't surprised by [Dimitri] Payet's big performance because I know him from West Ham, along with other stars like [Paul] Pogba. They are very solid team, a favourite and are playing at home," Chelsea attacker Pedro told reporters.

Reigning European champions Spain will open their Euro 2016 campaign against Czech Republic on June 13.
