How Spain could line up against Sweden

Sports Mole looks at how Spain could line up in Tuesday's Euro 2020 qualifier with Sweden.

Spain will travel to Solna on Tuesday night knowing that a point against Sweden would be enough for them to guarantee their spot at the finals of Euro 2020 with two games to spare.

La Roja missed the chance to secure qualification on Saturday night as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Norway.

Robert Moreno's side currently lead the section with 19 points, though, five points ahead of second-placed Sweden with three games to play.

The 2010 world champions recorded a 3-0 win in the reverse match back in June courtesy of goals from Sergio Ramos, Alvaro Morata and Mikel Oyarzabal.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Spain could line up at the Friends Arena.

POSS SPA XI vs. SWE

The likes of Jordi Alba, Jose Gaya, Koke, Isco, Dani Parejo, Marco Asensio, Morata and Paco Alcacer are not in the squad for various reasons, and it would be fair to say that there is an unfamiliar look to the current crop of players.

Oyarzabal, Rodrigo Moreno and Dani Ceballos started as a front three against Norway, but there is every chance that Robert Moreno could decide to make changes for this match.

Gerard Moreno could earn his first cap in the centre-forward position due to his fine form for Villarreal this season, while Dani Carvajal and Inigo Martinez are both pushing for spots in defence.

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga conceded the foul that led to Norway levelling from the penalty spot on Saturday night, but the 25-year-old is expected to keep his spot in the side ahead of Manchester United's David de Gea, whose form has dipped at club and international level over the last 12 months.

The bulk of the XI from the clash with Norway should remain the same, with Ramos set to captain the side once again fresh from becoming Spain's record appearance maker last time out.
