Vicente del Bosque confident in Spain squad

Spain manager Vicente del Bosque is confident in his squad ahead of the defence of their World Cup crown this summer.

Spain manager Vicente del Bosque has expressed his confidence in the 23 players at his disposal during this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

Spain go into the tournament as reigning world and European champions, but find themselves as fourth favourites with most bookmakers amid suggestions that their golden generation is on the decline.

However, Del Bosque has refused to accept that his side are coming towards the end of their period of dominance and is confident ahead of their World Cup opener against Netherlands tomorrow night.

"The World Cup starts now. If we can concentrate throughout 21 days then hopefully we will live up to the standards required of a world champion. I won't reveal tomorrow's line-up. We will use the players who we think are the best - but we do have 23 very good players," Del Bosque told reporters.

"I don't think this is a team of veterans, I'd say we're mature. We're simply not afraid of anything and that's not just because of our past successes. I'm not worried about the future either. Looking at the Under-21 team I think we can have high expectations."

Spain also face Chile and Australia in Group B of the World Cup.
