Chicago Fire come from behind to draw with Sporting Kansas City

Chicago Fire come from a goal down to share a 1-1 draw with Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer.

Chicago Fire came from behind to share a 1-1 draw with Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer this evening.

Mike Magee came close to opening to scoring for the visitors inside the opening two minutes when he rounded Kansas City keeper Eric Kronberg, but Aurelien Collin was back on the line to make the clearance.

The hosts soon started to dominate possession, with Dom Dwyer having a couple of shots, but they were unable to break the deadlock early on.

However, Dwyer did manage to open the scoring in the 34th minute when he sliced the ball past Sean Johnson from close range.

Sporting's lead lasted just six minutes though, as Magee fired in from the centre of the box for Chicago five minutes before half time.

Soony Saad came close to restoring Kansas City's advantage just before the break, but his finish went directly to Johnson.

Saad continued to look threatening early in the second half before he tried to curl the ball in from the edge of the box, but it went just wide.

The home side produced more openings as the match progressed, with Dwyer narrowly missing a chance to add his second when a bicycle kick narrowly cleared the crossbar, before heading over a couple of minutes later.

Juliao and Graham Zusi created a number of chances as full time approached, with Kansas City continuing to push for the winner, but they could not find the back of the net again.
