A point was enough for DC United to secure their playoff spot this morning as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Sporting Kansas City at the RFK Stadium.
The Washington outfit sat top of the Eastern Conference going into the game after a 1-0 home win against Philadelphia last week, and could not be leapfrogged by second-placed Kansas, even with a loss.
DC have yet to win a league game this year without both Davy Arnaud and Perry Kitchen in the starting lineup, the latter not available for Ben Olsen's men.
A point was enough on the night, though, and DC have now made safe their MLS Cup playoff spot and secured the top seed in the East.
