Sporting Kansas City have maintained their push for the MLS playoffs with a comfortable 4-0 away win over Chivas USA.
The visitors could have opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Dominic Dwyer was played in behind the Chivas defence, but Akira Kaji got back in time to make a crucial block to deny the striker.
Dwyer threatened again minutes later as he rose highest in the area to head Graham Zusi's corner at goal, but his effort went just wide of the post.
However, Dwyer finally found the net in the 40th minute when a cross-field pass from Zusi evaded Dan Kennedy and the forward slotted the ball into an empty net on the half-volley.
Sporting doubled their lead on the stroke of half time when Dwyer threaded a pass for Antonio Dovale, and although his shot hit the post Benny Feilhaber was on hand to fire in the rebound.
In the second half, Kansas City scored a third goal as Zusi collected the ball on the left and cut back onto his right foot inside the box before drilling a powerful shot past Kennedy.
Dwyer came close to netting his second goal of the game when he was played through one on one with Kennedy, but the keeper did well to save his low shot.
Sporting sealed their win in the 87th minute as Claudio Bieler latched on to a poor backpass from Jhon Kennedy Hurtado and rounded Kennedy to slide the ball into the back of the net.
