Sporting Lisbon have confirmed that they are in talks with Norwich City over a move for Ricky van Wolfswinkel.
Reports suggested early on Thursday that the 24-year-old Dutch striker was nearing a switch to the Premier League side.
"Sporting would like to inform that there are ongoing negotiations with Norwich for the transfer of player Ricky van Wolfswinkel," read a club statement.
Van Wolfswinkel, who has scored nine goals this season, joined Sporting from Utrecht in summer 2011 for around £4.25m.
