Tom Carroll and Kyle Naughton start for Tottenham Hotspur against Lazio tonight.

Tottenham Hotspur coach Andre Villas-Boas has handed starts to youngsters to Kyle Naughton and Tom Carroll for tonight's Europa League trip to Lazio.

Clint Dempsey has been preferred to Jermain Defoe in attack and will start just behind Emmanuel Adebayor. Aaron Lennon has been named on the bench.

Vladimir Petkovic has also taken the chance to rest a few of his first-team players, such as Antonio Candreva and Brazilian midfielder Ederson.

His compatriot Hernanes does start for Aquile, however.

Lazio: Marchetti; Cavanda, Biava, Ciani, Radu; Mauri, Gonzalez, Ledesma, Hernanes, Lulic; Kozak
