Half-Time Report: Emmanuel Adebayor heads Tottenham Hotspur in front at Swansea City

Early on it was home side Swansea and Jonjo Shelvey in particular who looked most threatening. He sliced a shot wide inside the first 10 minutes and warmed the palms of Hugo Lloris with a stinging drive soon after.

Spurs weren't testing Gerhard Tremmel down the other end as Swansea continued to try their luck from distance.

Wilfried Bony flashed a 25-yard shot wide in the 21st minute before coming ever so close to opening the scoring in spectacular fashion.

He received the ball with his back to goal before turning onto his right foot and unleashing a fierce drive, which beat Lloris but smacked into the crossbar and away.

Spurs went in front somewhat against the run of play when Adebayor found the net from Christian Eriksen's pinpoint cross.

The tide had turned and it was almost 2-0 to the visitors when Adebayor swiped a volley down the throat of Tremmel, who beat it away.
