Derby County midfielder Will Hughes pulls out of England Under-21 duty

Derby County midfielder Will Hughes withdraws from England Under-21 duty because of an injury.

Derby County midfielder Will Hughes has withdrawn from the England Under-21 squad due to injury.

The 21-year-old was included in the setup for European U21 Championship qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

However, an injury puts him out of contention for the fixtures, and now Tottenham Hotspur's Josh Onomah and Southampton's Jack Stephens have been called up.

Meanwhile, Dominic Iorfa and Matt Targett have not joined up with the squad as they continue to undergo treatment on injuries at their respective clubs Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton.

Aidy Boothroyd will take charge of the England Under-21s as Gareth Southgate is currently overseeing the senior side on an interim basis.
