Manuel Pellegrini: 'Sergio Aguero 100% fit and ready'

Manuel Pellegrini says that Sergio Aguero is finally back to 100% fitness after suffering an injury against Crystal Palace a fortnight ago.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that Sergio Aguero is back to full fitness ahead of his side's Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow lunchtime.

The Argentine striker scored from the penalty spot after just nine minutes of the League Cup third-round victory over Sunderland in midweek after an off-colour display in last weekend's defeat to West Ham United.

Aguero was the victim of a heavy challenge from Crystal Palace's Scott Dann a fortnight ago, but his manager has said that he is now 100% fit and ready to get back to scoring form.

"I think that against Sunderland he was practically 100% fit," Pellegrini told reporters.

"He was an important player during the game, he participated in all the goals. He scores the penalty and he had other chances.

"I think for tomorrow he is 100% fit. Maybe after his injury he was not alright, especially against West Ham he was not 100% but he is now okay."

Last weekend's defeat at home to the Hammers was the first game that City had failed to win in the league this season, but it did not knock them off the top of the table.
