Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that 13 members of the club have tested positive for coronavirus, including eight players.
Spurs fans were rocked by the news of a COVID-19 outbreak when reports emerged on Monday night, ahead of scheduled clashes with Rennes and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Initial reports claimed that up to seven players and two staff members tested positive, but Conte has now revealed that more cases have been recorded over the past 24 hours.
"Eight players and five members of staff but the problem is that every day we're having people with Covid, people that yesterday weren't positive and today are and we're continuing to have contact with. It's a serious problem," Conte told reporters, as quoted by football.london.
"Today another player and another member of staff positive. Tomorrow, who? Me? Another member of staff? I want to speak about football. This is not a good thing for you, the fans and staff."
Thursday's Europa Conference League tie with Rennes is scheduled to go ahead as planned, but Spurs could reportedly ask for Sunday's Premier League game with Brighton to be postponed amid the outbreak.
