Arrest warrant issued for Steven Pienaar

A warrant has reportedly been issued for the arrest of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Steven Pienaar.

The South African international, who is currently on loan at Everton, is wanted after he failed to appear in court to answer driving charges.

Pienaar's Aston Martin DBS was caught speeding twice on the same Essex road in the space of 11 days in October last year.

However, the 30-year-old was not present at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court yesterday and as a result the judge issued a warrant, according to The Mirror.

It is the second time that Pienaar has received a driving punishment, having been handed a 12-month suspension in March 2010 for drink-driving.
