Gareth Bale has hinted that he would be interested in rejoining Tottenham Hotspur at some point in the future.
Bale left White Hart Lane after securing a world record £85m move to Real Madrid last summer and played a big role in helping the Blancos win their 10th Champions League title in May.
However, the 25-year-old, who spent six years with Spurs, says that he has retained an affection for the club and its fan and refused to rule out a potential return one day.
"I'll never forget the great European nights at White Hart Lane. They were amazing," Bale told BT Sport.
"Tottenham will always have a place in my heart. I hope the fans still love me even though I've moved on.
"I love Spurs fans; you never know, I could come back one day."
Bale fired 55 goals in 203 Tottenham appearances, 38 of which came in his last two seasons in North London.
The Welshman struck once in Tuesday's 5-1 demolition of Basel as Carlo Ancelotti's side got the defence of their European crown off to a winning start.
