Vegard Forren "sorry" for Christian Eriksen tackle

Vegard Forren says that he did not get to apologise to Christian Eriksen on the pitch after his challenge left the Danish midfielder with an injured ankle.

Norway defender Vegard Forren has expressed his regret at not telling Christian Eriksen that he was sorry for the tackle that saw the Danish midfielder pick up an ankle injury.

The Tottenham Hotspur star is now expected to miss the next two weeks following the challenge during Denmark's 2-1 win in Herning on Friday.

"I never got to say sorry to Christian on the pitch," the former Southampton full-back told Ekstrabladet.

"He lay there and had treatment and was carried off shortly after. That's what happened and I hope it's not too serious."

Forren rejoined Molde without making a single appearance for the Saints following his move there earlier this year.
