Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel has revealed that the squad is eager to win trophies next season on top of qualifying for the Champions League.

Spurs, who narrowly missed out on reaching Europe's top club competition at the end of the last campaign, last lifted a trophy in 2008.

"We're all looking very positively at this season ahead. We see no reason why we can't finish in the Champions League," Friedel told Sky Sports News.

"But deep down we don't want to just stop at that, we want to win some silverware this season. If we can become title contenders, we will try our best at that as well."

Spurs get their season up and running at local rivals Crystal Palace on August 17.
