Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has revealed that it is his ambition to emulate the goalscoring exploits of club legend Teddy Sheringham.
The youngster described his idol as a "great finisher" and admitted that he was a role model to him growing up.
"He's a great finisher and was very good at getting in the box, scoring so many goals, especially for Spurs," Kane told reporters.
"As I grew up I tried to use him as a role model and if I can score as many goals as he did, it would not be bad.
"I met him once at a golf charity day and got to talking about Millwall because he played for them as well. It was great to meet him."
Kane became the first Spurs player to score in three successive matches last week when he found the net in their 3-1 win over Fulham.
