Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly no longer considering former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann for their manager's position.

Former Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly no longer considered a candidate for the Tottenham Hotspur manager's position.

Since sacking Antonio Conte nearly two months ago, Spurs have been looking for a permanent manager to take over ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

Nagelsmann was widely regarded to be one of the frontrunners to fill the role after he was dismissed as Bayern Munich boss in March.

There was a belief that the 35-year-old had held discussions with the North London club about the vacant managerial position.

However, according to Sky Sports News, the Spurs hierarchy have not met Nagelsmann, and there are no plans to hold talks in the future.

The report states that the German coach is respected by senior figures at Tottenham, but they will not appoint him as their new manager.

Spurs will continue to search for Conte's permanent successor, and they will consider current interim boss Ryan Mason as one of the candidates.

Mason took over the duties of interim boss last month after Cristian Stellini was sacked following a heavy 6-1 defeat to Newcastle United.

Since taking on the role, Mason has overseen a 2-2 draw against Manchester United, a 4-3 defeat away to Liverpool and a narrow 1-0 win over Crystal Palace last weekend.

The 31-year-old, who has been part of the Tottenham coaching staff since 2018, has expressed an interest in taking the manager's job on a permanent basis.

Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso is another candidate after impressing key figures at Spurs for his work with the Bundesliga club.

Alonso has taken Leverkusen from the relegation zone to sixth place and guided them to the Europa League semi-finals.

Feyenoord boss Arne Slot has also been linked, while Eintracht Frankfurt's Oliver Glasner, who will leave the German club at the end of the season, has been mooted as a potential candidate.
