Scott Parker has said that he was disappointed to be left out of England's starting lineup for the 1-0 win against Wales in their Euro 2012 qualifier at Wembley on Tuesday.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder had started in the 3-0 win against Bulgaria last Friday.

When asked if he was disappointed with his ommission, the 30-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I think obviously I was, I'm not going to lie.

"I thought I did well the other day and maybe I would get another chance, but it wasn't to be and we'll just keep going and see what happens."

The former West Ham United player will make his league debut for Spurs this Saturday away to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
