Mauricio Pochettino: 'Christian Eriksen one of the stars of the season'

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino believes that Christian Eriksen should be considered alongside Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez as one of the stars of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has hailed Christian Eriksen as one of the stars of the season ahead of the North London derby.

The Danish playmaker has nine Premier League goals this campaign and has won more points for his team - 15 - than any other player in the division.

Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, who is a major doubt for Saturday's game at White Hart Lane, and Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas are currently the frontrunners for end-of-season individual awards, and Pochettino feels that Eriksen deserves to be in that company.

He is quoted by The Telegraph as saying: "Yes, so far. Christian has the possibility to get to the same level. His contribution so far is as great for the team."

Eriksen is a bookies' outsider to win the PFA Player of the Season.
