Danny Rose has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have been "unacceptable" this season following Sunday's defeat to Arsenal.
Spurs saw their hopes of Champions League qualification dealt a severe blow at White Hart Lane as they were beaten 1-0 by their local rivals.
Rose believes that a string of poor displays during the current campaign suggests that the team is in decline.
"Some of the games we've lost and drawn at home have been unacceptable," he told the Evening Standard. "Have we played below our potential? Of course.
"Most members of our regular starting XI are full internationals, so we're all disappointed. Individually, we might not have done so well this season and, as a team, we definitely haven't.
"You look at some of our results at home and you compare them with the Tottenham teams of two or three seasons ago. We were beating those teams comfortably. So it's something to look at and we're definitely disappointed that this season might finish without us in the top four."
Tottenham's Premier League campaign continues on Saturday when Southampton make the trip to White Hart Lane.
