Tim Sherwood: 'Chris Hughton sacking upsetting to see'

Tim Sherwood admits that he has sympathy for Chris Hughton in the wake of his recent sacking.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has admitted that he has sympathy for Chris Hughton following his sacking by Norwich City.

Sherwood, who spent three seasons with the Canaries as a player, has seen his own future come under the spotlight in the last few days amid reports suggesting that he will be dismissed in the summer.

"I know Chris personally, and he's a good guy," the 45-year-old is quoted as saying by the Eastern Daily Press. "He did his best at the club and for anyone to lose their job is upsetting for any manager to see.

"We're all in it together, we all want to see each other do well but sadly it's the decision that's been made. When Chris goes, someone else will come in and unfortunately that's the nature of the game."

Tottenham face West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League this weekend, while Norwich travel to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham.
