Tim Sherwood: 'I want manager's job or nothing'

Tim Sherwood insists that he will not return to being an assistant if he is not offered the Tottenham Hotspur job permanently.

Tottenham Hotspur caretaker manager Tim Sherwood has insisted that he wants the job on a permanent basis and that he will not go back to being the assistant.

Sherwood is believed to be in the running to replace Andre Villas-Boas, but he has not confirmed that it is all or nothing as far as he is concerned.

"Long-term it's number one or nothing," The Express quotes Sherwood as saying. "Going back to being an assistant is not for me. But it's the chairman's decision. If it were down to me I am getting a 10-year contract now.

"[Other managers are] not being linked with the job by Daniel Levy, are they? It might not be about the biggest names - the club and the manager have got to be compatible. It is not good to keep changing."

Sherwood has taken charge of one game so far, which ended in defeat to West Ham United.
