Tottenham Hotspur reportedly refuse Blackburn Rovers permission to speak to director Tim Sherwood over becoming the club's new manager.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly denied Blackburn Rovers the chance to hold talks with club director Tim Sherwood over moving to Ewood Park.

The former Spurs midfielder has been linked with the vacant managerial role at the Championship club, despite the 43-year-old never taking on a full-time coaching role before.

While Sherwood has been a firm favourite to take over since Steve Kean offered his resignation, it is believed that Tottenham have refused the Lancashire club the chance to speak to the former midfielder, according to Sky Sports News.

Recent reports have claimed that Blackburn will turn to Blackpool manager Ian Holloway if they are unable to secure Sherwood.
