Stearman warns of 'tough' Spurs clash

Wolves defender Richard Stearman says the team is preparing for a tough game against a battered Spurs.

Richard Stearman has said he expects Spurs to provide tough competition when they arrive at Molineux today.

Harry Redknapp's side have had a tough start to the season, suffering losses to Man Utd and Man City, the latter being a 5-1 home defeat.

"Spurs will want a response from their last game and they've got a whole wealth of talent in their squad," the 24-year-old Wolves defender told the club's official website.

"It's going to be one of the toughest games we'll probably face but then again in recent times we have done okay against them. They've added very well in the window so we know it's a tough task but one we're looking forward to."

Wolves have made a strong start to the season, with seven points from three games, but Stearman said the players are remaining focused.

"Both individually and as a team I don't think we could have asked for a much better start," he added. "We're not taking anything for granted though - it can all change very quickly.

"We've got to carry on working hard on the training ground and hopefully all the lads will return from international duty fit and we can crack on against Tottenham."

Yesterday, manager Mick McCarthy branded the current Premier League standings "cock eyed".
