Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Brentford could line up for Saturday's Premier League London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has some attacking dilemmas to solve for Saturday's Premier League London derby away to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Bees head to North London on the back of a 3-1 EFL Cup third-round victory over Leyton Orient, which came a few days after an agonising 2-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Yoane Wissa scored a quickfire opener in that match before having to come off with a serious ankle problem, which Frank has confirmed will sideline him for a couple of months.

Wissa is now one of seven infirm Brentford players alongside Josh Dasilva (knee), Gustavo Nunes (back), Mathias Jensen (calf), Igor Thiago (knee), Aaron Hickey (thigh) and Rico Henry (muscle), none of whom are expected back in time for the weekend.

As a result, offensive regular Bryan Mbeumo could find himself partnered by fellow makeshift striker Kevin Schade in the final third, although Mikkel Damsgaard has also put his name in the hat after his goal in midweek.

Damsgaard could also battle Fabio Carvalho for a spot just behind the two strikers in a 5-2-1-2 formation, but the ex-Liverpool man - who scored a wonderful overhead kick on Wednesday - may get the nod in the number 10 slot.

Christian Norgaard and Vitaly Janelt will anchor the engine room, while Kristoffer Ajer and Keane Lewis-Potter could reprise their defensive roles out wide from the narrow loss to Man City.

Should Frank indeed side with a defence-heavy formation, Ethan Pinnock, Nathan Collins and Sepp van den Berg may form the central barrier ahead of Mark Flekken, who has already made a league-high 22 saves this term.

Brentford possible starting lineup:
Flekken; Ajer, Collins, Pinnock, Van den Berg, Lewis-Potter; Janelt, Norgaard; Carvalho; Mbeumo, Schade
