Scott Sinclair struck a late goal to secure a share of the spoils for Swansea City at home to Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.
The hosting Swans controlled large parts of the opening 45 minutes, but were unable to breach Brad Friedel's net.
Swansea's failure to open the scoring was punished just one minute before the break when Dutch international Van der Vaart turned in a Benoit Assou-Ekotto cross from inside the penalty area.
Substitute Angel Rangel had a good chance to draw the Swans level shortly after the restart, but his headed effort went wide of goal.
Sinclair had a shot cleared off the line by Kyle Walker as Swansea continued to heap the pressure on Spurs.
Their domination finally told seven minutes from time when former Chelsea winger Sinclair turned in a cross from Rangel.
Both sides created chances to grab the winning goal but in the end the spoils were shared.
