Louis Saha scores twice on his first start for Tottenham Hotspur as they record their biggest win of the season over Newcastle United.

Louis Saha marked his full Tottenham Hotspur debut with two goals as his new side recorded a 5-0 victory over Newcastle United at White Hart Lane this evening.

Hosting Spurs broke the deadlock with just four minutes on the clock. Emmanuel Adebayor and Gareth Bale linked for the former to send in a low cross which was met by an unmarked Benoit Assou-Ekotto at the back post to convert into an unguarded net.

Spurs then doubled their advantage two minutes later through Saha's first for the club. Adebayor was again the provider, crossing for Saha who sent a half-volley past Tim Krul in the visiting goal.

Saha scored again in the 20th minute as Spurs put the game beyond the reach of the Magpies. Luka Modric's cross was cushioned down by Adebayor into the path of Saha, who curled an effort beyond the reach of Krul.

Niko Kranjcar ensured Spurs took a 4-0 advantage into the break when he capitalised on a rebound of Krul to shoot low into the middle of the goal.

Visiting Newcastle found attacking opportunities limited in the opening 45 minutes. The closest they came was a free kick from leading goalscorer Demba Ba that was turned wide by Spurs goalkeeper Brad Friedel.

Tottenham continued to dominate after the restart, but they only managed to add one goal to their total. Saha nodded down Ekotto's cross into the path of Adebayor and the Togo international sent a first-time shot past Krul in the 64th minute.
