Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte is already working with three new players for the 2022-23 season, as Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster have all arrived at the club.
Further signings are expected to walk through the doors at Hotspur Way in the coming weeks, but the dream of a remarkable reunion with one player may not come to fruition.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest Tottenham transfer news, including updates on Christian Eriksen, Djed Spence and Cody Gakpo.
Spurs drop Eriksen interest

Months after it appeared that his professional football career was over, Christian Eriksen made his spectacular return to the Premier League with Brentford and was back to his playmaking ways.
Eriksen ended the 2021-22 season with a goal and four assists from 11 top-flight appearances, but he is due to become a free agent at the end of next week.
Tottenham have been tipped to reunite with the 30-year-old, who worked under Conte at Inter Milan, but Football Insider claims that Spurs are no longer considering a move for Eriksen.
The Dane is now choosing between a new contract at Brentford or a switch to Manchester United as Tottenham focus on other areas of the field in the current window.
Eriksen previously scored 69 goals and provided 90 assists in 305 games for Spurs in a six-and-a-half year spell, while he turned out 60 times for Conte's Inter Milan.
Djed Spence talks stall

Tottenham have seemingly knocked Arsenal out of the race for Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence, but getting a deal over the line for the 21-year-old is proving tricky.
With sporting director Fabio Paratici working on other targets, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is understood to be spearheading a second round of talks for the 21-year-old.
However, Sky Sports News claims that Tottenham are struggling to agree a fee with Chris Wilder's side, who are holding out for at least £15m to sanction Spence's exit.
As a result, Spurs are supposedly willing to move on to other targets in the coming weeks, with Lens' Jonathan Clauss and Torino's Wilfried Singo representing alternative options.
Spence's loan spell at Nottingham Forest in 2021-22 saw the England Under-21 international score two goals and set up five more in the Championship to help Steve Cooper's side return to the Premier League.
Tottenham join Cody Gakpo race?

Twenty-three-year-old PSV Eindhoven attacker Cody Gakpo is on the radar of several top clubs after ending the 2021-22 season with 21 goals and 15 assists in 46 appearances across all tournaments.
Gakpo will command a hefty fee, as his deal with the Dutch side is not due to expire until the summer of 2026, but that is not believed to have deterred the likes of Arsenal and Leeds United.
According to Sky Sports News - via football.london - Tottenham have also joined the race for Gakpo after conceding defeat in their pursuit of Arsenal-bound Gabriel Jesus.
Conte is seeking to add competition and backup for Harry Kane for the 2022-23 season, although Gakpo will likely be eyeing regular starts at his next club as he aims to make the Netherlands squad for the 2022 World Cup.
