Carlo Ancelotti refuses to discuss Gareth Bale

Carlo Ancelotti decides against talking about Gareth Bale's potential transfer to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti opted not to discuss Gareth Bale's proposed transfer to his club during a press conference this afternoon.

The Tottenham Hotspur winger has reportedly travelled to Spain to await developments, with Madrid said to be prepared to pay around £86m for his signature.

However, ahead of his side's La Liga clash against Granada tomorrow night, the Italian boss insisted that he was fully focused on that match, rather than Bale's potential arrival.

"I don't like to speak for two reasons, first of all because Gareth Bale is not a player of Real Madrid at this moment, and also because I need to have respect for my players," he told reporters.

"They are here and we are focusing on our game tomorrow. I know that at this moment it is easy to talk about the market because it is very close to the end. I do hope the Monday deadline will arrive very soon."

Ancelotti also refused to provide an answer when asked if Bale was the only player that he was keen to add to his squad.
