Andre Villas-Boas has insisted that the club are no longer interested in signing Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao.
Reports this morning had suggested that Spurs were preparing an £18m offer for the Internacional forward, who starred for his nation at this summer's Olympics.
Villas-Boas had previously stated his preference to have just three strikers in his squad, a number reached by the completion of Emmanuel Adebayor's long-awaited switch from Manchester City on Tuesday.
Despite this, long-term Spurs target Leandro is continuing to be linked with a move to White Hart Lane.
While Villas-Boas has admitted that he watched the 23-year-old earlier this year, he has said that transfer talks are now "closed" following Adebayor's arrival.
Jermain Defoe, a goalscorer in Spurs' 2-1 opening-day defeat to Newcastle United, and youngster Harry Kane make up Villas-Boas's three-man strike force.
