Emilio Butragueno backs Luka Modric for Real Madrid success

Real Madrid director of football Emilio Butragueno is confident that new signing Luka Modric will prove to be a success in Spain.

Modric completed his move from Tottenham Hotspur to Madrid on Monday, signing a five-year contract with the Spanish champions.

"With your talent and quality, you will help us achieve our goals," Butragueno told Modric at his official unveiling.

"For me it is a true pleasure to welcome Luka Modric. This is going to be your home for the next five seasons."

Reports have claimed that Madrid had to pay Spurs £33m as transfer fee for Modric.
