Real Madrid have reportedly held talks with Mauricio Pochettino and are preparing a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
Zinedine Zidane's future as Madrid boss has been called into question and the Spanish giants are believed to have made Pochettino their top target to replace him.
According to Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, the former Tottenham boss was approached by Los Blancos chiefs following last month's 2-1 loss to Manchester City.
Pochettino is rumoured to have informed Madrid that he is happy to bide his time before taking over, despite Premier League interest from Manchester United.
The same report indicates that the 48-year-old will be heavily backed should he succeed Zidane, with Kane a top target for Madrid ahead of next season.
Kane, currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, is valued at around £150m by Tottenham.
