Luka Modric will hold talks with Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas later this week, according to reports.
The 26-year-old's future has been the subject of fierce speculation all summer, with strong interest from Real Madrid in particular.
It is understood that Real have offered £27m for the attacking midfielder but Spurs are holding out for closer to £40m.
Modric was fined two weeks' wages by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy after going AWOL last month.
