Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur wanted to sign him last summer.
Pato's form since leaving AC Milan for a return to Brazil has attracted several suitors, and the forward has admitted that he had the opportunity to move to England.
The 24-year-old told SporTV: "Tottenham had called Corinthians to ask for my transfer.
"I sat at the table with the club and my agent, and I decided that I wanted to stay."
Pato has scored 16 goals in 51 appearances since signing for Corinthians for a fee of £12.2m.
