Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is at odds with Zinedine Zidane over the manager's handling of the Gareth Bale saga, according to a report.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly been left disappointed by Zinedine Zidane's handling of the Gareth Bale saga as the attacker closes in on a return to Tottenham Hotspur.

Bale arrived at Spurs' training ground on Friday and is expected to join Jose Mourinho's side on a loan deal until the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

The 31-year-old had a difficult relationship with Zidane during his time at the club and hardly featured for Los Blancos in the latter stages of the 2019-20 campaign.

According to AS, Perez is of the opinion that the manager could have handled the situation differently, with the president believing that Bale could still have been an asset for the club last season.

The report claims that Perez also disagrees with Zidane over Sergio Reguilon, who is set to join Bale at Tottenham this season, with the 23-year-old deemed surplus to requirements by the Madrid boss.

There is expected to be a buy-back clause in the Reguilon deal, though, which would allow the La Liga champions to bring the Spaniard back to the Bernabeu over the next two years.
