Tottenham Hotspur will make Harry Kane their highest-paid player ever to keep the striker in place at White Hart Lane for the long term, according to a report.
The 23-year-old, who is currently nursing an ankle injury sustained against Sunderland last weekend, penned a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Lilywhites in February 2015.
Spurs are in the process of updating the terms of a number of players, with Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose all committing to the North London outfit.
It is claimed by The Express that Tottenham are to offer last season's Golden Boot winner a £120,000-a-week deal in the coming days - an increase of around £70,000 on his current contract and £40,000 more than Gareth Bale picked up in his last season at White Hart Lane.
The same report suggests that Erik Lamela and Jan Vertonghen are also close to joining the list of players to extend terms until at least 2020, as Spurs look to push on from last season's near miss at the top of the Premier League.
