Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering selling England international Eric Dier, with doubts growing that he will agree to a new contract.
Dier has struggled for game time because of form and fitness over the past two seasons and is now stalling on a new deal until he gets reassurances.
According to the Daily Mail, Daniel Levy wants to avoid another player running their contract down into the final year and will be prepared to sell the former Sporting Lisbon man this summer.
Dier has not started for Spurs since before Christmas, with Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks, Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso all being preferred in central roles.
The report adds that the 26-year-old would rather play at centre-back than in midfield, where he has been used for the bulk of his Spurs career.
Since his arrival in 2014, Dier has made 229 appearances and scored 11 goals.
