Report: Tottenham Hotspur's Bas Dost talks collapse

Tottenham Hotspur's search for a new striker reportedly goes on after missing out on Eintracht Frankfurt's Bas Dost.

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Bas Dost has rejected the chance to join Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report.

Spurs are on the lookout for a player to take some weight off the shoulders of Harry Kane ahead of the October 5 transfer deadline.

A number of possible targets have emerged, with Dost supposedly one of those Jose Mourinho has been looking at.

However, Football Insider claims that talks with the former Netherlands international have collapsed as he is not interested in playing as a back-up striker.

Dost netted 11 goals in his first campaign at Frankfurt and was on target in last weekend's DFB-Pokal victory over 1860 Munich.

Frankfurt are said to be prepared to cash in on the 31-year-old if the right offer is tabled this summer.
