Southampton have reportedly rebuffed an approach from Tottenham Hotspur for their skipper Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Reports emerged yesterday suggesting that Jose Mourinho's side would look to complete a deadline-day deal for the 24-year-old, with Everton also said to be monitoring developments.
According to the Southern Daily Echo, the Saints have "no intention" of letting Hojbjerg depart St Mary's so late in the transfer window without a replacement waiting in the wings.
The Danish midfielder, who has 18 months remaining on his contract, had been eyed by Mourinho to fill the gap left by the departure of Christian Eriksen for Inter Milan this month.
Hojbjerg has made 120 appearances for Ralph Hasenhuttl's side since joining from Bayern Munich in 2016.
